Summer 2019
Greetings from Illinois IASIU, we hope you are having a great summer!! We had a great May Seminar with a tremendous turn out for this very successful event. This event would not be possible if it was not for our sponsors, so we want to thank all the sponsors for their continued support for our organization. We had several hot topics and fantastic presenters which made this a great seminar.
On Friday, September 20, 2019, we will have Mark Ruda who is a Partner at Condon & Cook with over 30 years of experience. He will present on “Defending Against Claims Involving Pain Management”. His practice includes defending tort claims, including those involving SIU issues and significant injuries, representing insurance carriers during the claim process as to coverage and SIU issues, defending insurance carriers after lawsuits are filed including breach of contract, bad faith and coverage claims, and defending insurance carriers in uninsured and underinsured motorist claims. Mark has successfully tried to verdict over 50 cases in Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will, McHenry, Grundy, DeKalb and Madison counties in Illinois, and successfully defended and prosecuted appeals in both Illinois and the federal courts. Mark is a frequent speaker on a variety of topics to professional organizations, including the International Association of Special Investigative Units (IASIU), Property Loss Research Bureau (PLRB), Insurance Committee on Arson Control (ICAC), and insurance carriers on a wide variety of topics. As always, we hope that you were able to bring back much good information from this presentation and tell those who were not able to attend what new information is being passed on regarding our daily battle against insurance fraud.
This is YOUR Chapter and you have a dynamite Board serving you. I know that you all will continue to support the Chapter as we move ahead in the coming years and continue to grow and serve our members. Thanks to all of you for all that you have done and will continue to do..
The Board asks that if you would like to recommend a training topic/speaker, please make your thoughts known to Chris Block, who is our Training Chair for the Chapter. His e-mail is chris.block@farmersinsurance.com. It is with such suggestions in the past that our training has stayed on the mark for what the membership needs to be exposed to. The registration and breakfast is scheduled from 7:30 A.M. to 8 A.M.
As a reminder, please mark your calendars for the meeting dates shown on the website so you are sure not to miss a meeting. Keep in mind that our bi-monthly meetings are held in January, March and November on the third Friday of the month, that the Annual Seminar is in May and the September Networking meeting to be announced. The Board hopes to see all of our members at the meetings.
